Hi everyone, Andy Stickel here. I am going to share with you a Legal marketing tip that is a little different, but also successful.
Here’s what I’m going to do. First, I’m going to click to upload. I’ve got a video right here that I made this weekend just messing around with my son. What I want you to notice is that this video is actually a little flat.
Adjustments
The following information gives you some idea of how I want my videos. As you progress, you will learn the adjustments that you like. Until then, you will find these numbers work well. You will also notice that I pick and choose options as I go. I use my experience and I get good results.
I’m going to adjust the colors on here, which is really easy to do. And then I’m also going to make this video ready for something that I would use for a Facebook ad. I don’t know if I’ll actually use this specific video because I’m not really advertising anything in it. As you can see, it’s a 16:9 video. What I’m going to do is I’m going to move this over a little bit. I’m going to click back here. I’m going to change this to 1:1. 1:1 is a square video. And that’s how I like doing all my Facebook videos. I’m going to drag this so it’s like this and then I’m going to drag it like that. And, now, I’ve got my video kind of like that. I could probably drop that down a little more if I wanted to and do it like that. And now we’re good. Now, what I’m going to do is I’m going to adjust the color. Let me pause this. And what I normally do is I normally boost the saturation and I’ll boost the contrast. And then you can see that that really drops everything down. Now, one thing sometimes you can do… You can’t do it on this. Some editors will actually lower the negative blur and that will sharpen things up a little bit. You can also play around with the brightness a little bit if you want. Now, what I don’t like about this is that it doesn’t show you the before and after. But you can see this is a much brighter picture already. And, usually, I want to go a little bit overboard. I want to make it brighter. I’m not necessarily going for perfect color correction. I’m going for a pattern. If you see right back here, we’ve got this really nice color back here. There’s just a lot that’s popping in this video so that’s kind of what we want to do. I’ve done adjusting. Now, what I’m going to do is I’m going to look at shapes. This guy right here. And I’m going to drop it in the corner and go like that. And we’ll just change it to red. Now, there’s an outline color here. Let me get rid of that outline color. They’ve got a lot of different shades here you can use. They don’t have just a regular red, which I think is kind of strange. They have kind of an orange-ish red there. That’s close enough to red. You can drop that up if you want or pull it up like that, somewhere around there.
Now, you’re going to do texts. My famous text is going to be, “Hey Lawyers!” I’m going to go like that, go “Hey Lawyers!” You can play around with the background if you want. For example, if you want a white text, you can have a black outline. You could do it like that. You can change the font. I like this font, Montserrat. What’s another one I use? I can’t remember what it’s called. Honestly, it doesn’t really matter. I mean, you can use Arial if you wanted. Open Sans is a good one if they have it. I don’t think they have Open Sans in this. I don’t know. I mean, I like a big, bold, block font and that’s why I typically would go with something like Montserrat. You can do an outline if you want to. You don’t have to. Now, we’ve got a video that’s ready to use for Facebook. All you have to do is hit publish. Click process. Save draft. “We sent your content to this…” Yeah. Once this is finished, then you should be able to download this video. And then you can upload it and use it wherever you want.
